Review: Healthy Snacks with Mediterranean Delicacies

Some Interesting info on Mediterranean Delicacies:

It is a family business established in 1988 by Anthony Nichas and John Lourandos, supplying the catering trade with exclusive Mediterranean products. The home industry soon began to develop into an interesting business with customers looking for a greater variety of Mediterranean style products – and so began a process that has resulted in the unique and extensive range of products available today. Over the past few years the Mediterranean team have grown their business with true passion, creating a range of products that remains popular and unique in South Africa. Mediterranean Delicacies is the market leader in the production of dips and specialized deli products and is one of the top producers and suppliers of olives to the market.

I, for one, have been indulging in many of the Mediterranean Delicacies products for many years and have always enjoyed the great taste and quality.

Harper eats quite well for a child her age (mostly "good" things I promise), however she never seems to eat a full meal but rather enjoys snacking throughout the day - this sometimes makes it difficult to always offer her healthy alternatives during snack time.

Mediterranean Delicacies were kind enough to send me a few of their awesome products to help make snack time easier and healthier for not only Harper but Allan and myself too!

First up on the snack menu is:

Stuffed Jalapeno Chillies - Allan and I are crazy about these! Delicious in every way! The tub from Mediterranean Delicacies is super convenient too as the chillies are already stuffed with the tastiest cream cheese. I prefer crumbing mine so that was needed was a dip into egg, flour, egg again and some fresh breadcrumbs and then fry/bake and Voilà - crunchy goodness!

Next up is a super easy snack - ready prepared carrot and celery sticks or health biscuits (we like the Snatts Oregano & Tomato oven baked ones) and some Mediterranean Delicacies Tzatziki or Feta & Herb Dip!

The Tzatziki is also great with some basic spicy meatballs - in and out of the frying pan in no time!

The Mediterranean Delicacies Basil Pesto is great on a smoked chicken and mozarella toasted ciabatta sandwich. Also really easy to prepare and packed full of flavour and goodness!

Okay so who doesn't love Pate!? I particulary love the Smoked Salmon Pate from Mediterranean Delicacies! Extremely creamy and tasty! Its simply the best with some toasted ciabatta and a dash of dill!

Last on our easy snack list is a quick salad (which Harper loved helping to make). A little bit of fresh lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, Mediterranean Delicacies Danish Style Feta & Herbs and a generous sprinkle of Mediterranean Delicacies Pine Nuts! I could eat this all day!

A HUGE thanks to Mediterranean Delicacies for sending us all these delicious goodies! It was thouroughly enjoyed!
