Harper's Amazing Build-A-Bear Experience!

Founded in St. Louis in 1997, Build-A-Bear, a global brand kids love and parents trust, seeks to add a little more heart to life. Build-A-Bear Workshop has approximately 400 stores worldwide where guests can create customizable furry friends, including company-owned stores in the United States, Canada, Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom, and franchise stores in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Mexico and the Middle East. The company was named to the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For® list for the eighth year in a row in 2016.

Recently I had the pleasure of taking my little Harper to two brilliant Build-A-Bear Stores. First we visited the Canal Walk branch. We were enthusiastically welcomed by Aidan who made us feel right at home. Harper's eyes widened with wonder as she studied all the amazing Build-A-Bear characters that surrounded us.

After some exploring Harper picked out the cutest snuggly bunny rabbit - Pawlette – which retails at R229.95

We also visited the Tygervalley Branch where she picked out an adorable doggy - Jack Russel terrier – which retails at R339.95

Harper had great fun helping to stuff her Build-A-Bear's! She especially loved choosing a magical little red heart and rubbing it nice and warm to put inside her new Pals!

Next up she went on to give her new friends a quick wash and was then able to dress them in the cutest little outfits and super sweet accessories! Jenna from the Tygervalley branch was super helpful and friendly and really made Harper's experience all the more fun.

The Build-A-Bear staff are really so friendly and spirited which is just perfect for little customers!

We then headed off to the very special Build-A-Bear computer's in store so that we could get working on our Build-A-Bear Birth Certificates! Harper (and most little kids nowadays) are SO tech savvy... needless to say she wanted to do all the typing, which I of course ended up doing myself.

AND just like that in only a few simple steps the Birth Certificates were ready! She named her Pawlette "Cotton" and her Jack Russel terrier "Noodles" !

Thereafter we did the VERY important Bear Promise! (Which Harper lovingly forced me to do with her.)

She wasn't able to repeat each sentence perfectly but I think she did a really great job!

I am tired of buying toys for Harper that really just have no meaning or real use.. and I think Build-A-Bear's are the perfect remedy. It is such a wonderful privilege to be able to actually build your very own bear, to put your own time and effort into making a very special life-long friend.

The Build-A-Bear experience is a very special one that you can share with your kids over and over. (Harper has already requested a Horse character Build-A-Bear from Father Christmas, so we will be back in no time!)

These Bear's are great value for money and are suitable for kids (and grown-up's) of all ages. Harper and I are totally in love with the Build-A-Bear Workshop and would recommend visiting your nearest branch in a heart beat! Here is a nifty list of all their wonderful Store Locations!

AND Here is a peak of their upcoming launches, including the amazing Mega Mini's!
